$179 Westboro Queen BedHow’s your Christmas shopping for discount mattresses and bedsteads? You know it’s a bit too late to place your order now if you want your discount mattress or inexpensive bed frame to arrive by December 24, right?

As for me, I have had enough Christmas shopping already and am now busy with gift wrapping and home decorating. Of course, I still update this blog with deals and discounts on mattresses and bedsteads if I come across any online at Amazon and Walmart.

Speaking of Walmart, I just helped my buddy order a Westboro Queen Bed for her college-going son. As he specifically mentioned that he did not like platform beds that sat on the floor, I found this bed that’s about a foot off the floor for him.

This sturdy, well-designed Westboro queen-sized bed is at Special Buy price of $179.00 now, plus FREE shipping.

If you prefer to buy this Westboro Queen Bed at $129.00, you may want to follow me on Twitter @dMattressesBeds for any clearance sale updates in year 2010.

Discount Air Mattress BedHi, I have been very busy updating my Discount Bedding blog with Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday bedding deals these few weeks that I haven’t found the time to find deals for this Discount Mattresses & Bedsteads blog.

Now that Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales and promotions were over, it’s time for me to list Christmas deals and bargains here so that you and other discount mattress and bedstead lovers get to buy the best deals. :-)

I think the very first deal I would like to let you know is the AeroBed for Kids. It’s of 32% off now, at $68.00.

When I blogged about this AeroBed air mattress for kids in June, it’s of 52% off.

However, quite a few mattresses and bedsteads lovers bought the air mattresses on Black Friday and Cyber Monday because they thought the price of $68.00 was reasonable.

Updated on December 4, 2009: Check out the Friday Sale!! The AeroBed for Kids is of 50% off now, at $49.99 only.

To Buy Or Not To Buy Discount Mattresses & Bedsteads Online?

Buy Mattresses OnlineShopping online is fast becoming one of the easiest ways to buy discount mattresses and bedsteads. However, there are a few things you should know before making any discount mattress or bed frame online.

Upon landing at an online store, make sure you spend a few minutes checking the online store’s terms and conditions, privacy policy, returns policy, refund policy, and whether or not it has a secure checkout.

Also check if there are phone number and physical address of the online store; you want to be able to contact the retailer when you have problems with the order or product.

To make your online mattress or bedstead purchase safer, keep in mind of the 12 questions below:

1. Who are you dealing with?

You should be able to locate the information about the site owner easily; there should be email address or phone number, or both, and a full mailing address available on the site.

Without this information, how are you going to file a complaint or check your order?

2. How much is it going to cost you?

The price of each item and shipping cost should be clearly displayed. Take note of information about delivery charges, taxes as well as currency differences.

3. What are you buying?

You should be able to easily identify the product through the image and description provided. Always spend some time doing some research or reading online product reviews posted by shoppers.

4. Is there stock available?

Stock availability should be clearly displayed. If you see that an item is on back order, make sure you know an approximate date for order completion. If you don’t, it’s wise to just cancel your order and try another merchant.

5. What delivery methods are available?

Determine what deliver options you desire are available and how much it will cost. Also be sure that the retailer delivers to your country.

6. How do you know when you’ve confirmed your order?

There should be a clearly defined ordering process for you to follow. You should also receive a receipt for your order either online or by email.

7. How can you pay for your purchase?

Payment options available should be clearly displayed. Though most online stores now accept credit cards, there are still some that do not. Some stores accept non-internet payment, debit card or third party payment providers like PayPal or Western Union.

8. What personal information are they asking for and what will they do with it?

Only information needed for purchase should be requested. Should you be asked for personal information, make sure there is an explanation of how the information will be used, and who it will be given to. Check to see if the store has an online Privacy Policy and read it!

9. How long will it take to get your order?

Make sure the store gives a stated target time for delivery, and that you’ll receive an email to tell you when it’s been sent.

10. How much do you owe?

The amount you paid should be stated when you order, with allowances for any currency conversion.

11. What if you don’t like the product, or it’s faulty?

The return policy should be stated on the web site and easy to follow with who to contact if the returns procedure fails. Any extra costs should be specified in the return policy, so check before you finalize your purchase.

12. Can you get a refund?

Most of the time there should be no problems obtaining a refund, just like regular shopping, provided you have the physical address of the trader.

The number of people shopping online for discount mattresses and bedsteads is staggering and continues to grow every year. However, there is still a need for you to be cautious when it comes to online purchase.

Types Of Mattresses – A Quick Buyer’s Guide

Visco Foam MattressNever walk into a store looking for a new bed until you have completely familiarized yourself with what is available on the market. If you are not educated about the types of mattresses currently being sold and the general price ranges for each, you can easily spend way too much on a discount mattress that doesn’t include the materials you really want.

Innersprings. This is the type of mattress everyone is familiar with. It has metal coils or springs surrounded by comforting and supportive materials.

The most basic models include cotton batting, but most models today will come with layers of foam. The exact materials included will often determine the price range of the mattress.

Pocketed Coils. They are becoming extremely popular today because they give a very plush, comforting feeling on the sleeping surface. Each metal coil is wrapped in its own pocket of material, rather than all of the coils being stuck together.

Memory Foams. There are quite a few different types of foams hitting the market, and some of the top brands have special names for their foam.

Visco-memory foam allows the mattress to conform to the shape of your body, essentially creating your shape in the foam. This is extremely comfortable and can help support your body.

How much you can expect to pay for a memory foam mattress depends on how much is actually included inside. Some models have a very small layer or only have it in certain “zones” while others will include thicker layers all across the mattress. The higher density foam mattress will be more comfortable, but is likely to cost more as well.

Latex Foams. This is another type of foam but it tends to be more expensive. You can purchase synthetic latex or all natural latex, with the natural version being more environmentally friendly and hypo-allergenic, but also more expensive.

You will find this as added layers in some mattresses or can purchase a solid core latex mattress for the ultimate in luxury and comfort.

All types of mattresses mentioned above can be found mixed together these days. Just remember when foam is involved that the price should only be higher if there is a solid foam core or higher density layers included.
